The LANIUS online store

Expansion of e-commerce for one of the leading producers of sustainable women's fashion

For over 20 years, LANIUS has been a renowned brand in the field of sustainable clothing for women.

A company like LANIUS that attaches great importance to transparent supply chains, fair production conditions, high-quality fabrics and long-term partnerships, and is also geared towards the wishes of its customers, knows how important it is to have a partner on the technical side that not only implements, but is also able to think and design holistically. This is precisely why LANIUS approached us in the second quarter of 2021. Since then, the collaboration has been systematically expanded and deepened beyond technical support.

Industry

The LANIUS fashion label has been producing and selling sustainable women's fashion for over 20 years. The slow fashion company launches its own collection twice a year, which is produced in a socially and environmentally responsible way.

Target group

LANIUS' target group is women of all ages who value the sustainable and fair production of their clothing. While the fashion label addresses its customers directly with offline stores and its own online store, LANIUS also sells its own products to retailers via its own B2B store.

Course of the project

After successfully developing the online store and relaunching the B2B store, we now support LANIUS on an ongoing basis with the management of SEA, SMM and SEO measures as well as ongoing technical expertise in the Shopware area

In DREIKON, we have found a competent partner in e-commerce who actively supports us both strategically and operationally. Thanks to their technical expertise, ideas and projects can be implemented flexibly and reliably. We greatly appreciate the collaboration and look forward to further joint projects

Shopware support & custom solutions

The joint launch was initiated by the technical Shopware support of the B2C store. This involved fixing technical and functional bugs and clarifying a number of comprehension issues.

As one of the first steps, however, the entire store system was migrated to Profihost in order to meet the growing requirements in terms of performance and scalability, but also in terms of sustainability (Profihost = green electricity hosting).

Successful migration of the B2B store to Shopware

Just a few months later, the LANIUS B2B store was rebuilt on Shopware and connected to the in-house ERP system via API. The existing xt:Commerce instance, which was no longer up to date in terms of security, was replaced by a modern and user-friendly system that is controlled by LANIUS directly from the merchandise management system. The front-end layout was adapted to the B2C store according to the customer's wishes. To make the ordering experience as quick and easy as possible for the target group, an order matrix was implemented on the item detail page, which allows several colors and sizes of the product to be added to the shopping cart in one step.

Front-end optimization of the B2C store for an improved user experience

Improving the user experience has always been the focus of our optimization measures. All technical changes were made not only with regard to functionality, but also usability.

Optimization of the loading time

The work on the front end included performance optimizations such as reducing the loading time. To this end, we used modern image formats, optimized the server caching and made various customer-specific layout adjustments. The optimizations improved the user experience enormously and led to an improvement in the performance of the B2C store.

Partially automated processes instead of manual maintenance

We have already been able to (partially) automate some of the manual processes. For example, we wrote specific cron jobs for Shopware and adapted the handling of some sub-processes in and for Pickware. In future, all suitable processes are to be automated as far as possible so that LANIUS can focus more on creative work.

Interdisciplinary collaboration for a successful online shop

We were - and still are - active in the areas of development, consulting, online marketing and project management to improve the performance of the B2C store and further develop the LANIUS B2B store.

Online marketing for more visibility

After creating the technical prerequisites for operating a successful online store, we are now active in the areas of social media and SEA.

In the future, we will also continue to increase the visibility of the LANIUS brand outside of branding with additional SEO measures and tap into the market for sustainable women's fashion.
