After extensive planning and analysis, we were able to relaunch frabox.de on Shopware and Pickware. In close cooperation with the customer and our online marketing, development and e-commerce consulting departments, the project was successfully completed in a very short period of around six months.

For frabox, it was the first relaunch and system change since the company was founded. In addition to a general improvement in the shopping experience for the end customer, the top priority was therefore to seamlessly continue the successes in online marketing that had been built up over the years.

Course of the project

The relaunch of the store, the change of the ERP including optimization of all warehouse processes and the move to a ticket system, as well as the realignment in SEA & SEO were completed in just under six months.

Simultaneous conversion of store system and merchandise management without complications

As part of the holistic support, we not only implemented the actual store relaunch in the project, but also managed and implemented the introduction of a new merchandise management system. The choice fell on Pickware, the ERP solution fully integrated into Shopware, together with the Pickware WMS extension for digital management of warehouse and shipping processes.

During various on-site appointments, the structure and IT were first prepared for the use of Pickware. After the actual setup of the warehouse and the dispatch stations, the employees were then trained in the operation of the merchandise management system using practical examples.

External service providers such as suppliers were also prepared for the new system at an early stage and even automatically connected via interfaces.

During the go-live and for a few days afterwards, we also had a team on site to monitor the relaunch and respond immediately to any questions or problems.

Transfer and optimization of article data

Due to the large number of articles, it was essential that these were transferred from the old xt-Commerce store system to Shopware. However, the migration tools provided could not be used due to the heavily customized data structures in the old store system. As an expert in merchandise management and digitization, we were able to achieve very good results with an individually programmed data import.

The product data was not only imported, but also optimized in close cooperation with the online marketing department.

Interdisciplinary collaboration for a successful relaunch

The frabox project shows how complex a relaunch can be and how the agency's development, online marketing, designers, consultants and project management have to work together for the benefit of the customer.

In the course of the relaunch, the category and article structures were also optimized by our online marketing team in close cooperation with the client for SEO and usability reasons.

Furthermore, all URLs of the old store were redirected to the new store system as part of an SEO-compliant relaunch. Other data from external services/accounts such as Google Ads, Bing Ads and Trusted Shops were also seamlessly migrated and optimized.

In combination with the new online store based on Shopware 5, the meticulously executed relaunch forms an excellent basis for successful SEO and SEA measures.

Digitalization and increased efficiency in customer service

frabox.de supplies both private and business customers and sells the goods via its own online store and other marketplaces. Due to these circumstances, many customer inquiries have to be processed quickly and reliably every day.

As part of our process optimization and the store relaunch, the classic handling via e-mail program was therefore replaced by the modern ticket system Zendesk.

Zendesk bundles the various communication channels into one platform and monitors the flow of messages. Thanks to an interface to the store system and merchandise management, all information on customers and orders is directly available to employees.

We also carried out the introduction of the ticket system in the form of on-site employee training sessions in order to be able to demonstrate the processes directly in a practical environment.
